Marine Sgt. Glen E. Martinez with the Combat Logistics Battalion 1, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton California was killed on May 2, 2008 while stationed in Karmah, Iraq by a roadside bomb.  ​

Glen was raised in Monte Vista Colorado.  An accomplished athlete, he was quarterback for his high school football team and took his team to state.  He also competed three times at state for his wrestling team.  He graduated from Ottawa University in Kansas with degrees in land surveying and math.  He met his wife while training  at Camp Pendleton.
